1) You have just registered a new account. All new accounts require confirmation before message posting is allowed.
2) You have recently modified your profile. Whenever you make changes to your profile, you will be asked to confirm it again.
3) The forum administrator has received a notification that your email address is invalid or not working properly. Whenever the discussion board tries to send a message notification to the email address you have in your profile, it checks to see if that email was delivered properly. If the email cannot be delivered properly for any reason, the administrator is notified. If it appears to the administrator that your email account is no longer working, your account will be reset so it requires confirmation. If you believe this is the case, please update your profile with a working email address.
1) You may have created more than one account with similar names and the same email address. If you are sure you have created an account in the past, but have forgotten your account login name or password, please do not create a new account. Instead, use the Login screen to have your existing account information sent to you via email.
2) Your account may be deleted if you have violated one or more of the discussion forum rules.
3) If you created or changed your account profile more than a two weeks ago, but never confirmed your account, your account may be deleted. Periodically, the administrator will delete any accounts that have been pending confirmation for more than two weeks.
The confirmation email is normally delivered within a few minutes of registering.
First check your profile and make certain your email address is valid and is able to receive incoming mail. Check every letter to make sure you spelled your email address correctly. Some typos are hard to spot. Also, make sure you used the correct domain type (.net, .com, .org) for your email address domain.
If you use any type of email SPAM filtering software or if your mail provider uses any type of SPAM filtering, you may need to configure it to allow email to come from webmaster@parkewest.hoaspace.com. For AOL users, this can usually be done by adding the address webmaster@parkewest.hoaspace.com to your AOL address book. If you have multiple screen names, make sure to add it to the address book for the screen name you have entered in your profile.
AOL users should also check their "Spam Folder" to see if the confirmation notice was incorrectly detected as spam. You can view your Spam Folder by starting AOL and clicking the Mail menu, then selecting Spam Folder from that menu. On older versions of AOL, try going to Keyword "Spam Folder" if this menu option is not available.
After you have made the changes above to your email address or your SPAM filtering, you can force another copy of the confirmation email to be sent to you by viewing your profile and clicking the "Resend Confirmation E-Mail" button at the bottom of the screen. This forces another email to be sent to the email address in your profile with the confirmation link needed to activate your account.
If you still have trouble receiving the confirmation email, you may want to open a "free" web-based email account through one of the internet's free email providers. If you are able to receive emails at that account, you can be relatively certain that your regular email account is somehow filtering out the emails from the community web site.

We are receiving calls from lending institutions to clarify the status of our homeowners association. In response to the voluntary Vs. mandatory query, the association can be deemed mandatory since we are part of a Special Benefit Tax District (SBTD).
Special Benefit Tax District
Because Anne Arundel County only has two incorporated cities, neighbors with common goals have formed 62 Special Benefit Taxing districts; Parke West is one of those communities. The districts function like mini-governments and may offer services in addition to those provided by county government. In most cases, the districts pay for maintenance of community property (in the Parke West Community, the HOA maintains the 4 community parks).
Parke West Homeowners' Association (PWHOA) became a SBTD in 1994 when more than 50% of the homeowners signed a petition to the County. This included all the single family and duplex homes roughly bounded by I-97, Covington, Quail, and Stafford Hill. The organization is run by a voluntary board elected by the 424 homeowner's each year in October. The board then elects its officers. Each year the financial records are audited to protect your contribution and the members of the board.
Property owners are billed the "special tax" (also known as the Homeowners' association fees-cost of fees can be found below) by Anne Arundel County as part of their general property tax bill. Tax monies collected from Homeowner's by Anne Arundel County are later transferred to the association to pay for maintenance and/or projects.
As mentioned earlier, Parke West is a Homeowners' Association (PWHOA) run by a volunteer board elected by the homeowners on an annual basis. We do not use a professional management company. We are not a Planned Unit Development (PUD).A PUD is normally associated with a condo association which is responsible for maintenance of the exterior of the buildings. As such, the lending institutions require proof of insurance by the PUD to make sure the lending institution is covered in the event of exterior damage.Parke WestHOA retains liability insurance only on our 4 parks.
If you are selling your home, the title company should pro-rate the yearly SBTD assessment in the same manner as the county taxes.
What can we expect from the Parke West Homeowners' Association (PWHOA)?
The major purpose of the PWHOA is to maintain the 4 parks for its 424 homes. In December, 2007 Anne Arundel County transferred the titles for Bosley and Quail Park to the PWHOA.The Board conducted a door-to-door survey seeking input as to what the adjacent residents desired to be done in the parks. This was discussed at the February 2008 meeting with ideas ranging from leaving the areas alone to installing playground equipment, benches, basketball hoops, and picnic areas. The Board will consider all the input and come up with a recommendation. Our real estate agents tell us that well maintained parks improve the property values of all our homes.
We are striving to have working committees to maintain the parks, a welcoming committee, a communications committee and a capital improvement committee. We welcome your suggestions and availability to serve!
The homeowners' fees* are as follows:
$105 for *2018 fiscal year (*July 2017-June 2018)
REMINDER: The association fees* are included as part of the homeowner's county tax bill.

STEP 2- After receipt by Zoning Enforcement, the complaint is logged and assigned to a Zoning Enforcement Inspector.
STEP 3- The inspector conducts an inspection and researches the property. If a violation is confirmed, the property owner is advised in writing about the violation and what action must be taken to correct the problem and is given a date by which compliance must be achieved. Inspectors work with property owners who request assistance in resolving violations. An extension of time may be granted to property owners who promise to resolve the violation within an acceptable time frame.
STEP 4- The inspector re-inspects the property after the compliance date. If the violation remains, citations may be issued or legal action is initiated.
